Rebel Without A God – The Anti-Authoritarian Attributes Of Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Rebel Without a God
By David Graeber
Some years ago, an anarchist calling himself E.G. Eccarius wrote a novel, The Last Days of Jesus Christ, Vampire. Admittedly Buffy the Vampire Slayer, TV cult sensation, does not aspire to quite this level of subversiveness. But there are times when it comes close. It’s also quite possibly the best show on television. (more…)
Meanwhile Down At BNP HQ
If for some reason you do not have flash enabled it is well worth while for this video.
Do They Deserve To Have Their Details Splashed All Over the Web?
It’s been quite the chatter of the media today, the BNP’s dazzlingly inept security that is. There has also been talk over whether it is right to be putting these peoples details all over the shop for all and sundry to see. We do, after all, live in a democracy don’t we? People have the right to think what they like don’t they? (more…)
And The Lulz Continue
The leak of the entire BNP membership list onto wikileaks has caused something of a furor amongst its membership. As can be seen in this discussion thread they are realising that membership in a fascist organisation is not a very smart move.
I personally find it hilarious on the one hand seeing BNP members claiming the BNP is a ‘legitimate political party’ and that they have nothing to hide and on the other all the coppers, doctors, teachers and soldiers crying over the possibility of losing their jobs.
Why should it cause me such glee that these people would be losing their jobs?
Simple really. If I send my kid to school I do not want them being taught by a fascist. If I am having surgery I do not want the scalpel to be wielded by a fascist. See what I mean? These people are motivated by hatred for that which they perceive as being different. they are the enemy of my class and as such I delight i their suffering.
And A 1, And A 2 And A LOL!
The BNP have had their entire membership database put online.
You can find it here.
If you want to keep hold of it, for whatever reason, then you should use the scrapbook application in forefox and save it to a depth on 1 link to make sure you get it all.
All together now. LOL.
Respect To The Pirates Of Somalia But Is This The Begining Of The End For The Town Of Eyl?
Somali pirates have become somewhat notorious over the last ten years or so with ever more daring raids upon cruise and cargo ships off the east coast of eastern Africa and Yemen. This month has seen their biggest haul yet with the capture of the Saudi oil tanker the Sirius Star carrying two million barrels of oil.
The usual practice for these pirates is to capture the vessel and then take it to the town of Eyl in Puntland northern Somalia. There are at present at least a dozen captured ship kept there at the moment. Once at Eyl the ship is docked and the crew are generally well looked after as the pirates enter into hostage negotiations for the safe return of vessel and crew. They ask anything up to US$1,000,000 for the ransom. Because of this the crews are normally well cared for. In fact in Ely there has even sprung up a restaurant mini-industry around catering for hostage crews.
The town of Eyl has traditionally been a safe haven for pirates but for how much longer? As the Sirius Star approaches port with its precious cargo will they be allowed to reach port? If they do will they be allowed to negotiate?
I get the distinct feeling we may see military action to ensure the return the lifeblood of western civilisation. If military action goes ahead will this spell the end of Eyl as a safe haven for the pirates?
We shall have to wait and see.
Please Make Sure You Have All Your Belonging With You…
… as we shall shortly be arriving at the future.
Please mind the gap.
Hubble Does It Again
One thing that really sickens me is that, despite all the wonders discovered by science over the last two centuries, scientific research is only funded if it looks like it could turn a profit. (more…)
Ghouls The Lot Of You
Spread all across the front cover of the papers this morning was the cherubic face of a we blonde boy. What’s I thought? Upon closer inspection it turned out to be an image of the poor little mite known as Baby P. It was only upon seeing this picture that hit home the bleakness of the situation.
By this I do not mean the horror inflicted upon this small child but the way the media is in a feeding frenzy of mutual masturbation over the whole thing.
Ask yourselves this, what purpose does it serve to have this little boy face splashed all over the papers. A final indignity served up in the names of selling a few more issues of a paper. They would not of course be doing this were there not a market for this and people lapping it up by a million rubberneckers ogling the poor boys corpse.
Shame on you all.
Ghouls.
